K9 Mojo died after his handler failed to remove him from the patrol car at his residence following their shift.

When his handler returned home at 3:00 pm, he became distracted due to an incident involving his newborn child. K9 Mojo was found unresponsive in the back of the patrol car at 7:15 pm by his handler.

K9 Mojo, a male Labrador Retriever, had served with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department for nearly three years. He was assigned with his handler who was the school resource officer at the Eastside Junior/Senior High School in Butler.
