A Note on the Criteria for Line of Duty Death Benefits

The criteria used for the awarding any line of duty death benefits by any federal, state or local entity, or from other sources, are separate and distinct from the acceptance for inclusion to be honored on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial or the Indiana Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters Memorial.

Only the Criteria for Inclusion adopted by the Indiana Law Enforcement Memorial will be used to determine whether an eligible line of duty death exists to be honored on this website.
