The Indiana Law Enforcement Memorial Inc. is “Dedicated to Honoring all of our State’s Fallen Officers” from our first known line of duty death in 1824 to our most recent.
After recognizing a need for a statewide resource focused solely on law enforcement line of duty deaths that have occurred in the Hoosier state, the Indiana Law Enforcement Memorial Inc. website was launched in April 2017. Our staff consisting of only its two co-founders, both from the law enforcement community, work diligently and without compensation to operate and maintain this website for its visitors, supporters, criminal justice instructors and researchers. Each of our fallen law enforcement officers and canines are remembered through individual memorials detailing their own personal stories and the incidents in which they made the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens they served.
To accomplish our mission of compiling the most comprehensive state memorial website in existence, exhaustive independent research was conducted that is continually maintained to ensure its accuracy. Our database was designed to include an advanced search capability to permit searching line of duty deaths by any combination of 10 variables as well as a directory that may be sorted by fallen officer’s name, agency, end of watch or county. We offer an exclusive statewide interactive line of duty death map to depict the location where every fallen officer’s incident has occurred and we were the first website to include an incident map within each individual officer memorial.
Additional features offered to our visitors are extensive line of duty death statistics and the opportunity to subscribe to recent Indiana line of duty death notifications by text alerts or email messages. As our website is optimized for viewing on mobile devices, an app is not required to be downloaded. All content is provided without charge, registration or membership and is offered advertisement-free.
