Detective Mark Bolhouse traveled to the Greenwood Police Department to recover stolen property during an investigation.
He had helped to lift a trailer to hitch to a vehicle when he complained of severe pain. He was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he died the next day from hypovolemia and a ruptured subclavian artery.
Detective Bolhouse, 27, had served with the Fort Myers Police Department for five years. He was survived by his wife, daughter, parents, two brothers, two sisters and paternal grandmother.
