Benjamin Ritchie, 37, will be appearing in a follow-up documentary that will air on February 1 in the United Kingdom. The original two-part series aired about five years ago and is available for viewing on the links below. On October 15, 2002, Marion Superior Judge Patricia J. Gifford sentenced Ritchie to death and is currently the only offender on Indiana death row for the murder of a law enforcement officer. Beech Grove Police Officer William Ronald Toney, 31, was shot and killed on September 29, 2000 during a foot pursuit of Ritchie, a car theft suspect, who fled after crashing the stolen van he was driving in a residential neighborhood. He was survived by his wife, an 18-month and 4-year-old daughter, two brothers, a sister and his mother. He was the most recent of the three Beech Grove officers who have been killed in the line of duty and one of the 84 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in Marion County.

The host of the show will be Sir Trevor McDonald, a highly respected British broadcast journalist. He has interviewed 5 US Presidents, was the first person to interview Nelson Mandela upon his release from Robyn Island and has been a trusted face on UK television for over 40 years. The production company anticipates that the show might eventually air in the United States, but there are no plans currently.
